Projects

We are happy to be able to explain about WWRO's projects at this page. Today several projects are ongoing and later more projects will come. As soon as we are ready to go public with next project, explanations about this project will be given here.

Our projects:

Project #1: Island Festival

Serveral groups recently showed efforts organizing their group's IOTA weekends and contests. Since those events are nice but limited to one group sending their teams to the islands, the WWRO Island Festival is meant to be an attempt to get as many teams active from different islands on one weekend to organize together the world's largest 11-meter Island Party.

To honour the effors of the teams and active hunters, there will be three classifications for the most effective teams, hunters and radio group.

Schedule your Island activity now and announce your activity on the Island Festival page:

Project #2: WWRC - World Wide Radio Contest

A Contest With Only One Winner:
Through the years we have seen almost every club organizing a contest for own club members. Through the latest years we have seen several clubs opening their own contest for participation of contesters from other clubs. Based at experience from the open contests we have decided to make one big contest for members of all clubs and for all operators, one contest with the same rules for all.

This means that 11-meter can find one super-contester: the winner of the contest of them all.

Today several clubs has decided to stop own contests and instead have their members to particilate to WWRC. The clubs can find the best Contester amoung their members - and compare to all other Contesters worldwide. Well, this is what contesting is about, isn't it? : To find the best.

Project #3: International Activation Validation Team

World Wide Radio Organisation is a way to unite the eleven meter band. There are many clubs and many operators all wanting the same thing:

  • to make contacts
  • to work new DXCC's
  • to enjoy themselves

The last years there have been many activations from different groups. We have all thought:

  • was it a valid one?
  • were the team really there on xxx island?

The only way to really validate an activation would be with a team of experienced operators of different DX groups all respected by the eleven meter community to validate the proofs.

This is only one project that WWRO can solve. There are of course many many more.

An independant organisation trusted and held in good esteem by all on the eleven meter band can achieve these goals!
